[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The first vivid picture of the region dominated by the Qawasim are connected with British military operations against them in 1809 \u2013 1810. There are some contemporary water colour drawings and, in 1813, Richard Temple published a series of aquatints depicting the operations of the British naval squadron. The series includes pictures of Muscat, Matrah, Ras al-Khaima, Luft, Linga and Shinas.<\/p>\n

THE SECOND BRITISH ATTACK :<\/strong><\/p>\n

The years 1819-1820 witnessed a second attack of the British against the Qawasim and their allies. This time all Arab fortifications on the coast of the Gulf between Al-Rams and Dubai were thoroughly destroyed.<\/p>\n

In this section you can see a cup, this silver gift cup was presented to captain, \u00abJohn Gover\u00bb by the British Government after attack on Ras Al-Khaimah in 1819-1820.<\/p>\n
